Training Academy
Your first assignment is to the Training Academy which requires you to fulfill a number of requirements that will be outlined by the CTO (Chief Training Officer), DCTO (Deputy Chief Training Officer) and the supporting TO (Training Officer).
These requirements ensure that you have read and understand the ROE, and that you are able to connect online for the game's) you play.
Once you have completed your training to the satisfaction of the CTO-SOC, you will then be graduated and ready to be assigned to a Group, promoted to E-4, and awarded the National Defense Service Medal.
Note you do not have to decide on only one sim, as all players are free to play as many as we support here in SOCOM.

All Sign up Forms are processed by our CTO-SOC.
Should you have any questions upon entering SOCOM, please be sure to direct them to your TO.
Our Chain of Command is there for a reason and we ask that you use it.

Groups
The Seawolves SOCOM Division is split up into four groups, ARMY, NAVY, MARINE, and AIR FORCE.
These are separate entities within SOCOM that allow us to have group vs. group war game engagements within SOCOM.
Each group has a Company Commander (CO) and an Executive Officer (XO).
The Commanders job is to make sure his/her company remains active and to notify the company members of any upcoming events in SOCOM and SeaWolves.
The XO acts in support of the CO and aids in training issues of members and any other assignment the CO has for them.
The XO is also training to become a CO.
Each command has the ability to grant certain Awards without prior approval of the Brigade and/or Division Commander.
Make sure you wear the proper uniform at all times.
That includes your rank and assignment designator in your Xfire nickname and during game play.
Update it if you are transferred.

Rank Structure
The rank structure used in SOCOM is based on the Army, Navy,  Marines, and Air Force ranks.
The highest-ranking member of the Seawolves organization is the FADM (Fleet Admiral).
Second in command is the GEN, ADM (General, Admiral), etc??..
For more information, please check out the SOCOM Ranks Page.
Make sure to put the proper rank abbreviation in front of your Xfire nickname, and that you update it ONLY if your rank on SOCOM web page changes.
We ask that all members show the proper courtesy towards the higher-ranking officers within SOCOM.
When you respect others they will respect you.
All officers are to be saluted when addressing them for the first time or when you enter a room with a higher ranking officer.
Only the highest ranking officer present should return the salute.

Promotions
Upon your completion of the in game bootcamp in (Armed Assault/OA series sim or the Training Academy, you will be promoted to the rank of (E-4) and awarded the National Defense Service Medal.
You will then be assigned to a Group of your choice ARMY, NAVY, MARINES or AIR FORCE for duration of your stay within SOCOM.
The best way to get your promotion is to PLAY, PLAY and report  all of your mission scores.
Keep in mind that your mission reports plays an important role in determining your promotion.
Another way to earn your promotion is to hold an office or admin duties along with merit in SeaWolves.
If you are interested in holding an office within SOCOM and/or SeaWolves feel free to let your CO know so that he can inform the upper Chain of Command.
Promotions from the rank of E-4 on up to O-5 are acquired by TIG Time in Grade and Merit, while the ranks of O-6 and above are approved via the Promotion Review Board (PRB).
All promotions up to the rank of O-5 are given by either the group Commander or CINC-SOC, XO-SOC or CG-SOC.
Time in Grade (TIG) is the number of days you have been at your current rank.
For a complete description of each rank and its requirements check out the SOCOM Ranks Page.

Leave Of Absence
IT IS MANDATORY FOR ALL SEAWOLVES MEMBERS TO FILE A MINIMUM OF ONE MISSION REPORT WITHIN A 30 DAY TIME FRAME.
We are here for ONE reason and that is to have fun playing the games we like to play.
With that said, we have to keep in mind that we are a gaming group, and as such, one of the few requirements is to PLAY.
Since Real Life MUST always come first, there will be times when a player CAN NOT play for a duration of time.
We understand this and all we ask is that the player let us know.
This is the only way we know the difference between the ones that are not able to play from the ones that have just vanished.
It is only common courtesy that you let us know if you are not able to make the minimum requirement of one game per 30 days so that we are able to take the necessary actions to make sure that you remain as a member of SOCOM until such time when you are able to continue playing again.
There are only a few requirements for leave, which each member will accept by requesting leave.
ALL leave requests MUST have a reason AND an estimated date of return.
If the reason is considered ?personal or private? then you must specify so to the Brigade Commander and it will remain personal or private for the duration of your leave.
If you have any questions and/or concerns regarding this section of the ROE do not hesitate to ask the COC.

Activity Status
In SOCOM our goal is to make everyone welcome and to keep things fair for all members.
Below is the description of the different types of status you may find throughout your stay in SOCOM.

RETIRED: This status condition is reserved for those officers that have EARNED the ?retired? status, as they can no longer afford the time to be an active member.
This type of status is reserved exclusively for players that have contributed greatly to SOCOM and SeaWolves over a long period of time, entry into this type of status can only be approved by the Commanding General.
Very few players are eligible for this type of status as it is based solely on what a person has given back to SOCOM and/or SeaWolves, and the reason they can no longer be an active member.

INACTIVE: If we have not heard from you within 30 days of your last known filed mission report.
Your CO will contact via Email to determine whether or not you need to be put on LOA/ELOA.
If after 1 week of still no contact then SOCOM reserves the right to place you on Inactive Duty which by this time you have 1 week to file a mission report.
If the COC has still not heard from you then your personal Record will be removed and you will no longer be considered a member of SOCOM.

HONORABLE DISCHARGE: This status condition is given to those members who for any reason do not feel they will be able to continue to play for SOCOM and/or SeaWolves.
A letter of resignation must be sent to your CO explaining the reason for resignation.
Once approved you will be notified via email and your personnel records kept for 90 days.
If after 90 days you do not decide to return we will remove your records from our database.

DISHONORABLE DISCHARGE: This status condition is given to those members of SOCOM and/or SeaWolves who have been inactive and not responded to back to your COC by email.
Furthermore this status condition is reserved for those members who have done wrong to any member of SeaWolves.
If you receive this status condition for any reason your records are removed from the database and you are not able to return to SOCOM for no less than 6 months unless otherwise noted by the COC.

Online Gaming
When you play against members of outside groups/organizations or other approved individuals, you are a SOCOM officer and are expected to act like a SOCOM officer at all times.
While other groups may have no rules, you should still conduct yourself as if you were playing here.
We do not ask anything unrealistic of our members only that you treat others with common courtesies and play fair and honorably.
Playing and reporting games played against players from other online groups/organizations or individuals are now allowed following these mandatory conditions:
- The ?outside? player must be a member of an authorized group/organization, OR an approved individual (see Approved Player List)
- Prior to game play, you must make sure the player's) you go up against are approved individuals or Members of those authorized organization's) AND are not listed on the banned player list.
If that organization or individual is NOT in the approved lists, that game is NOT reportable. You can then ask your COC for the possibility of adding this new player or organization to the authorized list.
That authorization will be given or refused by the XO/CG after proper verification.
- In your report, you must list the name (call sign) of the ?outside? player's), PLUS the organization (if applicable) that the player belongs to.
- ANY game reported MUST use the approved SOCOM mods/patch for that sim.
While other groups may have their own mods, we must use our set to ensure that the scoring system is fair for all members here.
- ANY game reported MUST have a screen shot or debrief available on request.
- SOCOM ROE is in effect concerning scoring and reporting at all times.
-Any differences and/or conflicting issues over any game automatically making the game non-reportable.
In any and all cases, kills on any Cadet is not allowed to be scored by the SOCOM player.
It can be mentioned in the report, but not scored.

Hostile Organizations
Any group that is listed as a BANNED group is there because of severe problems that stretch well into SOCOM.
In most cases we will simply ban the offending players without punishing any good players in the outside group.
Please make sure that ANY players you play with are NOT listed on the banned player list, as while the group as a whole may not be banned, some players might.
ANY player from an outside group that is not on the BANNED players list MUST show in his approved group's uniform for the game to be reportable, with the exception of players on the APPROVED players list, which may not belong to any group at the time.
Authorized and Banned players and groups can be found at BANNED/APPROVED PLAYER LIST or by selecting the link from the main page.

Getting Started
The first thing you need when getting started in the SeaWolves SOCOM is a Call sign (nickname) that wish to be known as.
Call signs that have profanity or may be drug related will be removed and you will be asked to re-enlist with a new call sign.
The next thing you need to do is get Xfire and/or ventrilo installed and ready to use if you do not already have them.
ALL SOCOM members utilize Xfire and/or ventrilo to set up potential games within SOCOM as well with groups outside SeaWolves.
All new members to SOCOM should add the following members to their Xfire (if Xfire is used).
These members are part of the upper Chain of Command (COC) of SOCOM, so give them your respect.
They are available anytime they are online, but once again, we ask that you utilize the entire Chain of Command within SOCOM.
For Ventrilo all you need to do is simply install and sign in.
You must also download any and all mods/patches required by SOCOM for your game's that you wish to play during your time within SOCOM.
If you are not sure what is required for your game'), ask any member for assistance.
