SeaWolves Ventrilo

Academy Tips and Tricks #1
At the start of game if you’re in a submarine there are a few things you need to do just for self preservation. Once you get into your sub Get to a tactical speed. This is any speed between 8 and 15kts. The other trick is get as far away from your starting point as you can while maintaining tactical speed. At 15kts you can still maintain good sonar and tactical picture of what is in the water. Also at this speed it affords you a bit more maneuverability When you go at 5kts your boat is slow to turn and it takes that much longer for your Towed array to swing around to get a full picture. If you stay at 5kts and very close to your starting point odds are not in your favor and you will surely be sunk. If you have ever dove against Admiral Clearride and watched the replay you will note that very seldom will hit sit where he has spawned at in the game. He picks the spot he wants to be in and gets there with speed and stealth. If you sit there like a whale going very slow you will surely sleep with the fish.
Academy Tips and Tricks #5
The SeaWolf Shot!. This is by far the most gratifying kill one can make in Dangerous waters. When done right it is one of the most lethal tactics ever devised. It takes much practice to perform flawlessly. But when mastered it is a most beautiful thing to use. It requires daring and patience. Here is how it works. You send a very slow torpedo in the general direction of your prey. However when you do this you want to bring it up behind them. Right into their baffles. Using the layer to mask it. Set the range to enable just as far and long as you can. You keep it prenabled up until you are ready to strike. It works best when fired from a very deep location. Let it run at that depth as long as you can. You set the depth on the torp as close to the bottom side of the layer as you can so when you do enable it that it climbs fast and furious. Giving your prey very little time to react to it. Get the fish with in the range that it would aqquire and home right away and then enable it. It really works well when you enable it and it automatically goes into a 2 second ping interval. Not only will you get the kill but more importantly it will leave your opponent stunned for hours as to how you managed to pull that off and how they managed not to see it. That’s how you get into their head the Seawolf way! Good Luck and Good Hunting
Academy Tips and Tricks #2
Terrain can be your best friend or your worst enemy. The darker the blue the deeper the water is. You will notice trenches and channels which can serve as good hiding places. But if you choose to use this as a hiding spot make sure that you are not boxed in. Always leave yourself and exit strategy. When you see shallow waters and a trench smack in the middle of it remember that your opponent may use this trench to mask his movements. On the other hand if your using the trench to mask remember this, Your opponent is thinking the same thing you are so if you choose to use a trench get in get deep and get fast. Think of it as a highway. You certainly wouldn’t go slow on a highway to get to a destination. Same applies here. If your deep and your sure that you can not be heard from the shallows go to flank and get in and out of there to a new position. Sea mounts are also great hiding spots and ambush points as well. If you got it in the map, Use it. It may just help you become victorious.
Academy Tips and Tricks #3
Finding your prey!. If you haven’t found your prey with in a very short amount of time then more then likely he is not where you are looking. You will need to move to a new location and start a new search. If you are in an underwater depression and haven’t found him after 20 minutes there is a reason for that. He is not there. If you see and island and you haven’t picked him up there is a good chance your on the wrong side of the island. Think of it as going to the store. If your looking for hamburger you won’t find it in the bread aisle. This means your going to have to change your location to find the opponent and make hamburger out of him!
Academy Tips and Tricks #4
Situational awareness. Here is something we have all done. Your getting ready to go shallow and you have changed your speed. Then you key the microphone on ventrillo to say something either to your team mate or opponent. WHOOPS. You just blew it. How so you may ask? Well while your microphone is keyed up I am hearing your crew spouting out the orders you just gave them in the background while your talking. So now I know your going shallow. I am going to go up and take a look and get my shot ready for the kill while you are still talking on ventrillo. Becareful what you allow to go across on your microphone. It will give you away sure as hanging a big old sign up there saying “HERE I AM”.
Academy Tips and Tricks #5
Anti_TMA. Want to confuse your opponent? This is how it is done. Your TMA updates every 2 minutes. So if you know that your detected make sure they get a clear picture of your course and speed. Then after 4 to 5 minutes turn your boat change your speed up and then every 1 minute and 30 seconds change again. Don’t return to your base course. If you do you are sunk. Make sure to give their TMA a chance to really get confused. They will in turn fire on a position that you are no where near. Think of it as a zig zag without the zag. Keep zigging. Don’t go in circles though. If you do their fish will find you. Change up your depth and speed and course all at the same time. If you lose sight of your prey on sonar mark that last known position and then reaqquire when the time is right. Using the 6 minute rule you can pretty much guess where they are going to be from that mark. Good Luck and Good Hunting.
